At these meetings, a neurologist and neurosurgeon will explain many treatment options for Parkinsonís disease, such as medications, surgical options, and future treatments. All meetings will also include a discussion of Activaģ Therapy, a totally implanted brain stimulator that was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2002 to reduce some of the symptoms associated with advanced Parkinson's disease that are not adequately controlled with medications. More than 30,000 people worldwide have used this therapy.
