Essential Tremor

No Treatment

Because no therapies are known to prevent or slow the natural progression of ET, all treatment measures are considered symptomatic. Treatment is recommended when tremor begins to interfere with a patient's ability to perform ADLs or leads to social embarrassment. Therefore, no treatment may be the best option if functional disability is minimal or is not troublesome to the patient.
