International Essential Tremor Foundation
The International Essential Tremor Foundation is an international non-profit organization that was founded in 1988 to provide educational information about ET. The organization publishes a quarterly newsletter for patients, relatives, and family physicians. The newsletter contains summaries of research progress presented at professional meetings; news on treatment options for patients with ET; articles by medical experts concerning specific aspects of tremor; and suggestions from movement disorder specialists and ET patients regarding coping with ET. The ITF maintains a worldwide referral network of neurologic specialists who are experienced in the clinical care of ET patients. The organization also assists in the formation of local, independent support groups and has formed a chapter program.
